Barclays, with the help of incorporatewear have created an ingenious way of keeping the buzz and the excitement from the beginning to the end of a corporate clothing programme. Offering a staff purchase scheme, consisting of ‘limited edition’ garments made available twice a year.

Barclays core wardrobe is designed with classic looks and longevity in mind; however we find a large number of fashion and style conscious wearers want to refresh their garments regularly & wear clothing that is on trend to compliment and build their business wardrobe. Jeff Banks, design consultant and incorporatewear director ensures fashion/trends are reflected in these limited edition garments, while still taking great care to ensure his designs interpret well into the core range fabrics and fit with the professional appearance that Barclays is accustomed too.

Best Innovation

It isn’t often a company has the chance to create ‘an industry first’. When Barclays challenged Incorporatewear with creating a new vehicle for showcasing their corporate clothing collection we jumped at the opportunity to show our exceptional flair and creativity, we wanted to push the boundaries from static wearer guides and create something truly exceptional.

Incorporatewear with the help of Jeff Banks pulled out all the stops in the development of a new, glossy fashion & style conscious magazine. With the following key objectives from Barclays ringing in our ears:-

* Make the corporatewear programme come alive
* Create a buzz & excitement surrounding the garments
* Create a sense of inclusion for staff
* Build the brand

An enviable line up of fashion editors came on board from GQ, Men’s Health, Sunday Mail You magazine plus top photographers, hairdressers and makeup artists to the stars.
The magazine is produced twice a year, spring /summer and autumn/winter.
Whilst it is distributed to 22,000 individual wearers, actual readership is more like 40,000 plus. We are currently in our 4th edition with a 5th edition planned to go live next month. A lot of work and planning goes into the creation of the magazine and it takes around 8-12 weeks from start to finish.

There is more!

Nominated for the Environmental Initiative Award was Nationwide Building Society for their “ethical wardrobe”. Encompassing organic cotton shirts and buttons made from highly sustainable corozo nuts.

It’s important to consider ethical and environmental issues right at the start when a new collection is being developed. The materials used in a collection obviously have an impact on the environment, whether it’s during their manufacture and production, or at the end of its life when considering options for reuse or recycling.

If reuse and recycling is taken into account right at the start it makes the end of life management a much easier process.The organisation is committed to sustainability and the environment, and ensure that no corporate clothing enters landfill sites.
