Case Study HSBC
Delivering a stunning uniform for a financial organisation over 150 years old.
About HSBC
Supporting a brand transformation with a new, modern look.
HSBC UK is a bank based in Birmingham, England, offering personal, business, and online banking to millions across the UK.
HSBC were in need of a new uniform range offering a refreshed look to support and reflect their brand transformation, presenting a new and relaxed look. They needed an entire range to be created, including; jackets; fleeces; shirts; skirts; dresses; delivery bags; and accessories complete with HSBC branding and brand colours.
With sustainability at the forefront of our processes, we wanted to create a uniform range that would benefit both HSBC, as well as the planet.
Using a multifaceted approach, we created a uniform range using 98% recycled polyester made from recovered plastic bottles, 100% BCI cotton, recycled metal zips and press studs, recycled plastic buttons and zips from ocean recovered plastic, eco vero viscose, FSC certified lyocell, near shore production UK and Europe where possible.
The Numbers
Their New Look
Brand refreshes can be tricky, but we supported them every step of the way.
HSBC have undertaken a branch transformation injecting a more relaxed look and feel to the branch. The uniform was designed with this in mind.
To support sustainable efforts, the garments provided will either have no packaging (where appropriate) or will be packed in biodegradable bags. In an effort to support zero landfill and also reduction in plastic usage. We developed a delivery bag made from the remaining fabric we had from the previous uniform range, this bag can then be turned inside out and used as a weekend tote bag for life. Reducing the need for single use plastic or cardboard packaging.
930,000 plastic bottles have been either recovered from the oceans or diverted from landfil and manufactured into fabric to make the garments. 2,323kg of Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton have been used. 1,880kg of FSC Certified Lyocell used. 761kg of Eco Vero viscose used.
A new programme to consolidate uniform size exchanges has been implemented reducing the number of courier journeys. The guidance for the new process is contained within the uniform deliveries and printed on seed paper which colleagues are encouraged to grow into Bee friendly flowers in a campaign to promote ‘Bee the change you want to see in the world’
This project has produced an industry leading range with exceptional sustainable credentials.
